The Riverside Welcome Plaza is located on the southwest quadrant of the intersection of Vivion Road and Gateway Avenue in Riverside. The plaza has a fountain, a clock tower, a compass rose and a human sundial (that works too!).
The fountain is built into the small wall. Water flows out of an opening near the top of the wall and falls over the letters spelling Riverside down into the rocks.
There is a sidewalk path that goes behind the wall and under the clock tower. The brick depictions of historical events and significance of Riverside are on this path.
The parking lot behind the clock tower is currently barricaded off. I parked at the Quiktrip across the street.
