First Baptist Raytown Fountain
Found: May 3, 2016
This fountain sits in front of the First Baptist Church in Raytown along State Route 350, across the street from Wal-Mart.
It features a scultpure in the middle of the basin. The sculpture features a group of children playing on and around a tree stump. I am currently unaware of the artist or the name of the sculpture. There is a pipe rising up out of the middle of the sculpture and water comes out of that pipe and cascades down the sculpture. There are also two water bubblers in the basin.
Back in February, a driver attempting to flee police crashed into the front of the church, where he was apprehended, and that is why there is plywood over the front doors. This is also how I became aware of this fountain as the local news station did an on-location report for their newscasts that day and I saw the fountain in the background behind the reporter.
