Carl J. Dicapo Fountain
Found: September 21, 2014
The Carl J. DiCapo fountain is a recirculating waterfall using natural rock and a cliff-side setting to bring attention to a natural spring. It is located in Kessler Park along the Cliff Drive Scenic Byway. It’s very tall, I’d say about 30 feet, maybe taller. You can hear the roar of the falls before you see it. The address above is an approximate address designed to give you the location on Google Maps.
A note about Kessler Park. The roads within Kessler Park are closed to vehicular traffic on the weekends (I took a picture of the sign on the park gate which is below). So, if you go hunting for this one on the weekend you will need to park your car at the park gate at the east end of Cliff Drive where it meets Gladstone Boulevard and then walk in (or bike, skate, skateboard or whatever floats your boat). It is about a quarter mile west of the park gate. Also, if you follow the walking path along the north side of Gladstone you will eventually come across a large electrical cabinet. Next to that cabinet is a dirt path into the woods that leads to the top of the waterfall.
